Buses

Buses have been arranged to shuttle you to and from the airport, the conference, student accommodation, and official conference events. The timetable for all of these services is below.

Where do I catch the bus at the airport?

At Melbourne Tullamarine (MEL)

This is where most people are arriving. If you're not sure which airport you're flying into, it's very likely to be this one!

Volunteers in bright orange t-shirts will be roaming the airport. Look for the Volunteers in the bright orange t-shirts! The buses will depart from Bus Zone "L" (L for Lima) outside the international terminal. Bus zone L is coloured blue in this map.

At Avalon Airport (AVV)

Look for the Volunteers in the bright orange t-shirts in the Arrivals lounge. They will guide you to the bus.

Saturday 30th January - Airport pick-up

Buses will run from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL), to Avalon Airport (AVV), to Deakin University Waterfront Campus (WF, Geelong CBD), and finally to Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus (WP, student residences).

Sunday 31st January - Airport pick-up

Buses will run from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL), to Avalon Airport (AVV), to Deakin University Waterfront Campus (WF, Geelong CBD), and finally to Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus (WP, student residences).

Monday 1st February - Friday 5th February

Buses will run between Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus (WP, student residences) and Deakin University Waterfront Campus (WF) between 0700hrs and 2200hrs.

Services will depart Waurn Ponds every hour on the hour starting at 0700hrs and departing Waterfront every hour on the half-hour starting at 0730hrs.

The following services will run addition to the shuttle to ensure everyone gets to and from the conference in time

Professional Delegates Networking Session (PDNS) - Tuesday 2nd February

Buses will run between Deakin University Waterfront (WF) and linux.conf.au 2016 Professional Delegates Networking Session at Little Creatures Brewery (Swanston Street, South Geelong) (PDNS).

Penguin Dinner - Wednesday 3rd February

Buses will run from the Penguin Dinner at The Pier (across the road from Deakin University Waterfront Campus) (WF) to Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus (WP) at the conclusion of the event.

Speakers' Dinner - Thursday 4th February

Buses will run from Deakin University Waterfront Campus (WF) to the Speakers' Dinner (SD) and return to Deakin University Waterfront Campus (WF) and Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus (WP) after the event.

Saturday 6th February - Airport Drop-off

Buses will run from Deakin University Waurn Ponds (WP), via Deakin University Waterfront (WF) to Avalon Airport (AVV) and then on to Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL).
